For 6 years I have been working at the Institute of Russian Language and Culture of Moscow State University as a teacher. One of the biggest difficulties of the Russian language is correct pronunciation and understanding by ear. Each language has its own sounds, many of them are not similar to the sounds of other languages. To master pronunciation, you need to learn reading in Russian, and for this you need to know the letters and rules of reading. Russian writing system is not familiar to all beginners who learn Russian. If your native language uses a different writing system (for example, hieroglyphs), then at first it will be difficult for you to read Russian and, as a result, memorize new words.

Why do I advise you to start learning to read Russian as early as possible, especially if the writing system in your language is completely different? For example, your native language is Chinese, and you are used to reading hieroglyphs. Of course, it will be strange and unusual for you that in Russian we do not have to learn the pronunciation of every word as a whole. We only need 33 letters of the alphabet, which almost always read the same way. Chinese characters need to be memorized as a whole. The constituent elements of a hieroglyph may be related to its meaning, but not always to its reading. For example, the Chinese character 好, which means "good", consists of two parts - 女 and 子. For a Russian person, it is not clear why 好 is read as "hǎo" and not "nǚ + zi".
Russians are used to putting words together from syllables and syllables from sounds. This is similar to the mathematical 2+2=4. For example, д+о+м= дом (house). Each sound in this word corresponds to its own letter.

For students of advanced level, it is also possible to enroll in a conversation club, where training takes place in mini-groups. Each lesson is built around a specific topic: family, study, work, art, sports, and so on. We start by getting acquainted with new vocabulary on the topic, then we work it out in exercises and then discuss issues related to this topic in a group. Each member of the conversation club gets the opportunity to express their opinion, participate in dialogues, tell their story. A special topic of the conversation club is communicative games that allow to have fun while studying. By playing in Russian, we learn to communicate in a natural and relaxed atmosphere. Group classes are a very effective form of training for those who already know the Russian language well and want to apply their knowledge in practice.
